SUMMARY
Open until filled-
Student recruiters are highly visible and active representatives of the College that are responsible for recruiting prospective students (high school students and adults), assessing their educational needs, and explaining the benefits of Gaston College programs. This position reports to the Director of Admissions and Enrollment Management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Work with the Recruiting Coordinator to support the implementation of the College's recruitment plan.
Assist the recruiting coordinator in building and maintaining relationships with various high school and community groups to facilitate access to opportunities at Gaston College for prospective students.
Promote the College and our programs to prospective students, parents of prospective students, and other key groups that influence prospective students.?Deliver approved recruiting presentations and/or distribute approved marketing materials (in-person and virtually), at high schools, local businesses/ organizations, and other community locations.
Actively participate in college/career fairs at high schools, local community outreach events and other recruiting activities where we can reach prospective students.
Plan, schedule, and conduct in-person and virtual information sessions and campus tours for school groups and other prospective student visitors.
Assist the Recruiting Coordinator in the development of individual program recruitment plans; promote and maintain awareness of programs and other student services.
Garner and maintain a strong working knowledge of the College organization, services and educational programs.
Assist with planning and facilitating recruiting activities for the College to include, but not limited to, information sessions, campus tours, and off-site recruiting booths/presentations.
Utilize a variety of communication methods (in-person, phone, email, etc.) to encourage prospective students to visit campus, apply and complete the admissions and enrollment processes.
Provide support and assistance to Admissions and Educational Partnerships as needed during high-peak enrollment times. This may include assisting with follow-up for prospective students that have not yet completed the admissions process.
Assist the Marketing and Communications department with College events, including the handling of the College's mascot.
Utilize and maintain various student information systems and technology to enter and track prospective students.
Assist with special projects and perform other duties as assigned.?

Work cooperatively with team members and colleagues, contributing positively and constructively to the achievement of team and College objectives. Adhere to the College's policies, procedures, and other established guidelines.
MINIMUM EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS
Associate degree from an accredited institution required.
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution preferred.
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS One year of experience in admissions, recruiting, direct sales or customer service required.
Proficiency in Spanish preferred.
Exceptional communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills required.
Strong organizational skills with a high degree of detail orientation with the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, work independently and communicate effectively required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Physical requirements include the ability to stand, sit, walk, and talk/hear for extended periods of time; lift, maneuver, and transport recruiting items; lift and maneuver items weighing up to 50 pounds.
Ability to drive to and from off-site locations in Gaston and Lincoln counties required.
Flexibility to work evening and weekend hours will be required.
